This article contains details of pay in NHS Band 1 (also known as Agenda for Change Band 1). It covers the Agenda for Change salary in England as a whole, and in the Inner, Outer and Fringe London weighting (HCAS) areas.
In all bands staff receive a starting salary. Then, in all bands except bands 1 and 2, they receive increments after a number of years of service.
Agenda for Change Band 1 salary in England
Band 1 was closed to new entrants in 2018. There are still some staff on band one, and their salary this year is £22,383. This is exactly the same rate as staff receive in Band 2. The table below shows the salary you should expect to receive for each year of service you have in Band 1.

NHS HCAS / London Weighting Band 1

The Inner London HCAS band 1 salary this year is £27,515. This is exactly the same rate as staff receive in Band 2. As with band 2, no increments are available.
